Starting off, here is an initial storyboard I made for my animation, I was really conflicted on how I would visually represent things in my video without making it seem “slideshowy.” I had no idea of what artistic direction I would go in when I first made these storyboards. But nonetheless, there were certain images and sequences that I was really interested in making.

After looking at the sequences I was interested and committed on making it happen, I realized a form of illustration as a medium would help with the storytelling of the video. Here is a first iteration and a rough draft of a video:

From this initial rough draft video, I had a better sense of how my video would flow and what specific scenes I would have to draw more detailed. I used procreate to draw my scenes, with the smart animate feature. Here are a couple of drawings I did while sketching out my idea.

I saved the animations on procreate as an mp4 and brought it into aftereffects to stitch and assemble together.
